Garden Horizons NPCs — Bill, Molly, Maya & All Characters (2026)

All Garden Horizons NPCs explained: Bill's seed shop restock cycle, Molly's gear shop, Maya the IGMA Botanist, Steve's quests, and tips for each character.

Garden Horizons NPCs — Bill, Molly, Maya & All Characters (2026)

Garden Horizons has a small but important cast of NPCs, and understanding each one's mechanics is key to running an efficient farm. The whole game's economic rhythm is basically paced around one NPC: Bill. His 5-minute restock cycle is the heartbeat of the seed economy, and once you internalize that timer, the rest of your farm planning falls into place naturally.

Here's everyone you need to know, what they do, and how to get the most out of each interaction.

Bill — The Seed Vendor

Bill runs the seed shop and he's the NPC you'll interact with more than any other. His shop restocks every 5 minutes, which means every 5 minutes there's a fresh supply of seeds available to buy.

This creates a real decision loop: should you buy now, or wait for the next restock? A few things to keep in mind:

  • Bill has a stock limit per restock. Each seed type has a cap on how many units he carries per cycle. Rare seeds in particular can sell out fast on busy servers. If you're chasing a specific seed, buy it the moment you see it.
  • Server timing matters. On a full server, other players are also watching Bill's restock. Competitive players will be waiting at the shop when the 5-minute timer ticks over. On less populated servers, stock tends to last longer.
  • The 5-minute timer is shared. It's not per-player — the whole server is on the same restock clock. So if you miss a restock, you wait the same cycle as everyone else.
  • The best time to buy rare seeds from Bill is right when a restock hits — especially after a scheduled Admin Abuse event, when players who just made big money will be buying aggressively. If you can position yourself near Bill's shop just before the timer resets, you'll have first pick.

    Molly — Gear & Tools

Molly runs the gear shop and sells sprinklers, watering cans, fertilizer, and plot upgrades. Her stock is fixed — she always carries the same items at the same prices, no restock timers to worry about. She's just a purchase interaction whenever you have the money.

The key decision with Molly is upgrade order. Don't let her full catalog tempt you into buying the wrong thing first. The recommended path:

  • Basic Sprinkler ($15,000) — First purchase as soon as you can afford it
  • Turbo Sprinkler ($60,000) — After your farm is running with a Basic
  • Super Sprinkler ($100,000) — Completes your sprinkler stack
  • Fertilizer — Situational; useful for event prep
  • Plot Upgrades — Late-game expansion
  • Don't buy watering cans beyond the Basic ($500 starter). The money is better saved toward sprinklers. See the Gear Guide for full sprinkler stacking math.

    Maya — The IGMA Botanist

Maya is a limited-time NPC who only appears during the IGMA Event, which runs on a 14-day arc. She spawns near Molly's shop area and offers a series of research quests that are completely separate from Steve's regular quest board.

Maya's quests are worth prioritizing heavily when she's active:

  • She rewards IGMA Seed Packs, which contain 7 exclusive event plants you can't get anywhere else
  • Her quest chain builds progressively — completing early quests unlocks later, higher-reward ones
  • When the 14-day event ends, Maya disappears along with her quest rewards
  • Common Maya quest types include bringing mutated crops to her for research, harvesting specific amounts during certain weather events, and completing chains that eventually reward an exclusive IGMA plant seed. If the IGMA Event is running and you're not talking to Maya, you're missing some of the best locked content in the game.

The IGMA Seed Packs also have an 8-pull pity system, which is among the most favorable pity rates in the game. The exclusive plants inside are genuinely strong, so this event is worth going hard on when it's live.

    Steve — Quest Board

Steve sits in the central area near the main play space and manages the daily and weekly quest board. He's the most consistently accessible NPC since he's always there regardless of events.

Steve's quests refresh on two cycles:

  • Daily quests reset every 24 hours — things like harvesting X crops, selling crops worth a certain amount, or watering plots. Fast to complete if you're actively farming.
  • Weekly quests reset once a week — usually bigger goals like earning a total amount from selling, harvesting X Lush crops, or completing a set number of daily quests. Weekly rewards include Uncommon and Rare Seed Packs.
  • Check Steve regularly. It's free Shillings and free seed packs just for doing things you'd be doing anyway. See the Quests Guide for full details and completion tips.

    NPC Interaction Tips

Camp Bill's restock on busy days. If you know an Admin Abuse event just ran and everyone made money, the seed shop will be in high demand. Be near Bill when the 5-minute clock ticks over. Switch servers if Bill's stock is picked clean. On high-population servers, rare seeds can vanish instantly after each restock. If you're consistently missing what you want, try a lower-population server where you have better odds of getting first pick. Don't ignore Maya when she's active. The IGMA Event has a hard end date. Every day of the 14-day window that you skip Maya's quests is a day of IGMA Seed Pack rewards you can't get back. Batch your Molly visits. Since her stock is fixed and there's no time pressure, plan your purchases around income milestones. Don't trickle money into watering cans — save and buy the next sprinkler tier when you're ready.

    FAQ

How often does Bill restock his shop?

Every 5 minutes, on a shared server-wide timer.

Is there a way to get seeds other than Bill?

Yes — seed packs from quests, logins, events, and codes also give seeds. But Bill is the main ongoing source for specific seeds you want on demand.

Does Maya appear in every game session?

Only during the IGMA Event arc. Outside of events, she's not in the game.

Can you miss Steve's daily quests?

Yes — they reset after 24 hours and don't carry over. If you skip a day, those quests and rewards are gone.

What's the best NPC to focus on as a new player?

Bill first, to understand the restock rhythm and secure seeds. Then Molly to start building your sprinkler setup. Steve's quests run passively in the background and don't require special planning.
